How change can start with us
“The Language of Empathy” is a one-year journey where we will go through topics such as connecting with oneself, self-expression, empathy, conflict resolution, social change, and building communities. Each week we will gather to learn and practice together, divided into beginner and advanced groups. Every meeting will be like a small field to explore how we can communicate with more humanity and clarity.
A unique element of the project is the “Empathy Buddy” system – each month we will pair participants to meet 1:1 and practice active listening, support, and dialogue. We are also planning a special 5-day training for future facilitators, led by a certified trainer – an important step toward building long-term capacity in the NVC movement in Bulgaria.
What will I get?
The project will give you space for deep connection with yourself and with others – through the practice of empathic listening, sincere self-expression, and nonviolent dialogue. You will be part of a community that learns and grows together every week. You will have an “empathy buddy” with whom you will practice support and understanding monthly. You will have the opportunity to join a training for future facilitators and develop skills that can transform not only your personal communication but also the way you influence the world around you. Through games, educational materials, and joint creativity – you will make learning joyful and inspiring.
The project will end with the translation of key materials, the creation of a set of educational cards, and the development of a board game to ease entry into the world of NVC – especially for young people who enjoy learning through experience and play.

Everything that we discussed and learned was very useful to me, and I was able to understand more about non-violent communication, but at the same time, discover many new things about myself and the way I interact and see the world.
This is my inspiration for this theme and it is something I recently discovered as a mindset. I found new logic for my entire life through caring for another and how much hope that brings to an individual when they have to do things to make another creature’s life better and not their own. Which of course makes everyone in the equation happy.
